The Chalk of Your Dreams
by Robo J
Mrs. Castioni walked over to the chalkboard and picked up the orange colored chalk. Normally, when she was writing something on the board, like the homework assignment or a math problem, she would use the white chalk. But, since she was using colored chalk the kids from this third grade class figured that she was going to use it for something fun.
"Mrs. C.," called out Liz, "are we going to play hangman or play a word game or something?"
Mrs. C. just shook her head no.
Michael smiled and said,
"I know, you are going to draw a picture of a pumpkin. That's why you have the oran
Yes, I am a Christian.
That doesn't mean I'll be showing up on your front porch
Waving a Bible in your face screaming "Have you heard?
Heard the Good News?"
Yes, I am a Christian.
That doesn't mean I'll condemn you to hell for drinking that glass of wine,
Telling you to treat your body like a temple and keep it pure.
Jesus Christ drank wine, didn't he?

Yesterday I heard the lyrics I wrote (my diviation, "You Are") sung to music. As I had stated about that song, I wrote it for use in a play (which will be performed on June 27th). So my friend (who is also an excellent musician) sung the song on tape for me so I could give it to the girl who is actually going to sing the song for the play so she'll know how it goes. It was so cool to hear my work performed, given life by this excellent singer...I wish everyone could hear it!
Last night the whole cast (at least the major players) showed up (unlike the week before). The rehersal went well, although the cast still needs to memorize their lines...It is tough directing, sometimes, it gives me a head ache but once the play is performed, I think it'll be worth it. :bounce:
